State-of-the-art office building becomes paragon of sustainability and innovation
Last week, construction officially began on the new EMEA headquarters of Delta Electronics at Park 20|20 in Hoofddorp. At this sustainable office park, G&S& (part of VolkerWessels) is realizing a modern, energy-neutral office building of over 9,300 m². Designed to meet the highest sustainability standards, the project aims to achieve a BREEAM Outstanding certification—the highest possible recognition for sustainable buildings. Kondor Wessels Amsterdam (also part of VolkerWessels) is responsible for the building’s construction.
The new EMEA headquarters of Delta Electronics, designed by the renowned architecture firm MVSA Architects, will be a showcase of sustainability and innovation. The five-storey building, with a total floor area of approximately 9,300 square meters, will accommodate around 350 employees. In addition to workspaces, the building will feature a showroom, meeting rooms, and various recreational and creative spaces. At the heart of the building is an open atrium with staircases that facilitate both the flow of people and natural light and air throughout the space—encouraging spontaneous interactions and stimulating creativity among employees.
Jeroen Post, Head of Development at G&S&, commented: ‘We are proud that a forward-thinking company like Delta Electronics has committed to Park 20|20 for the long term. Their choice to fulfill their sustainability ambitions here supports our vision of creating work environments that are both sustainable and future-ready.’
BREEAM Outstanding Certification
Sustainability is at the core of the new EMEA headquarters' design. The building will be energy-neutral, equipped with 715 solar panels that generate over 335,500 kWh of renewable energy annually—enough to cover the building’s total energy consumption. An energy storage system will ensure efficient energy management, while climate ceilings will optimize heating and cooling. Additionally, the office will be connected to Park 20|20’s area-wide thermal storage system. These sustainable technologies not only enhance energy efficiency but also support the project’s goal of achieving the prestigious BREEAM Outstanding certification.
Dalip Sharma, President and General Manager of Delta Electronics EMEA, stated: ‘Our decision to establish Delta’s new EMEA headquarters at Park 20|20 underscores our commitment to sustainability, innovation, and long-term growth. This forward-thinking business park aligns perfectly with our ESG goals through its emphasis on circular economy principles and high-quality working environments.’
