THIS. presents an ensemble of a new office building and four residential buildings on the open water of the IJ, in a nature-inclusive landscape. Here, living and working next to the water is really taken to a whole new level. A large roof top terrace, atmospheric communal spaces and a large garden (‘The Hidden Garden’), make you feel inspired and truly at home. The office building is characterized by superb amenities, flexible floorplans and incredible views from every window. Working doesn’t get much better than this.

Because of the pandemic, living and working have become more intertwined. People increasingly want homes where we they can also work in silence, and office spaces where they feel at home. As a social hub, THIS. really embodies this need. Inside the office building, the focus lies on health and well-being, combining today’s office requirements with natural elements in airy spaces that energize and inspire.
Buzzing Buiksloterham
THIS. is located at Buiksloterham: a former industrial district turned into a vibrant cultural area with lots of entertainment options. THIS., as an initiative where living, working, leisure, city life and nature come together, seamlessly fits the ambitions for Buiksloterham as drawn up by the municipality of Amsterdam. Because of the mixed functions, THIS. will surely add to the dynamism of this upcoming neighbourhood.
Collaborate for better
THIS. came into being thanks to a group of incredibly committed professionals. The contractor (Wessel Rijssen) and the installer (Van Losser) got involved at the early stage of the design process. All parties feel greatly responsible for the end result. This benefits the quality of the project and offers a wonderful example of ‘collaborating for better’.
