Autonome expressie
Mixing young and old
We’re proud to say that NieuwDok is the first large-scale mixed project on NDSM, combining residential and societal functions. NDSM now makes it possible for hundreds of students to gain valuable knowledge and enjoy modern, permanent housing. The mix of ages, from young to old, of the users, works well at NDSM. This new and exciting concept in the area emphasizes the dynamic nature of this one of a kind piece of Amsterdam, adding to its liveliness.

In it together
For NieuwDok, we successfully collaborated with Moke architects. This architecture firm really did a great job in creating a building that ‘stands out while blending in’. Their sensitivity for the history of the area, for instance, also appeared on the glass façade, that has images of construction drawings of historic ships printed on it. A lovely yet meaningful detail! Because of the success of this collab, G&S& asked Moke to further collaborate with us on the creation of NoordDok and Pontkade.
Let’s collaborate
for better.
